Toddler

Our Toddler Program build on the activities we introduce children to during the Infant Program, including eye-hand coordination, movement and balance, and sensory development. We also introduce children to activities that teach them independence with special focus on personal care, care of the environment, and food preparation. In addition to learning independence, children further develop their gross and fine motor skills, as well as creative and critical thinking skills.

Hand-Eye Coordination

We continue developing children’s hand-eye coordination through enjoyable but challenging Montessori activities that are designed to enhance physical development. By continuing to develop this crucial part of a child’s growth, they will be well-prepared for more complex activities they will encounter as their education progresses.

Movement and Balance

Gross and fine motor skill development continues through exercises and activities designed for optimal physical development. The group aspect of these exercises are highly beneficial to children as they get to see others engage in these activities, which encourages them to participate while also helping them understand the various movements.

Sensory Activities

We continue to develop the child’s five senses through activities and conversation about their experiences. By vocalizing these experiences, children better understand their sensorial awareness.  This is a crucial exercise to enhance physical and mental development growth.

Language and Vocabulary

With proven Montessori techniques to enhance children’s spoken language capabilities, we utilize poetry, stories, and music to enhance vocabulary, pronunciation, and familiarity with word structures. We then get children familiarized with the written word through sensory practice, including sandpaper letters, chalkboard writing, drawing and more. After combining instruction with the spoken and written word, we introduce children to reading through phonic instruction, phonograms and grammar games.

Practical Life

Learning independence is foundational to a Montessori program. We engage children in a variety of practical life activities that enable them to function and flourish to be their independent selves. These include pouring liquids, setting tables, handling zippers and buttons, and much more. These activities are also integral to motor skill development.

Mathematics

Through a variety of activities and learning materials, children form a solid foundation in the world of mathematics. Our activities help children understand counting and basic math problems through practical life exercises. In addition to developing math skills, these exercises also help develop children’s critical thinking and concentration skills.
